Ready-to-use attract-and-kill trap for the control of the Mediterranean fruit fly (Ceratitis capitata) in tree crops, vineyards, and tropical fruits using the mass trapping method.
The trap works by releasing food attractants into the environment, aiming to lure the insect into contact with the trap’s internal surface, which is impregnated with the pyrethroid insecticide (deltamethrin).
The trap is hung directly on the tree.
Apply the traps from the fruit development stage until harvest.
Install the traps when 1 adult/trap/day is detected in monitoring traps, or 30–40 days before the color change of the fruits (BBCH: 81), or 50 days before harvest.
