Pyrosam 75WG is a cross-system selective herbicide for combating grasses and broad-leaved weeds in wheat. It acts as an inhibitor of the enzyme acetolactate synthase (ALS) (oxygenate synthase) by blocking the amino acid synthesis of weeds. The growth of sensitive weeds slows down a few hours after the application of the preparation, although it is possible for a period of several days not to notice a noticeable effect. Symptoms such as chlorosis and necrosis first appear in the upper part of the plant's meristoma. New leaves of the upper part also wither. Then this effect spreads to the remaining parts of the plant. The definitive fight against weeds is observed within 2-3 weeks after application, however it may take a longer time in case of adverse weather conditions. Optimal efficiency is achieved in weeds, which are in the initial, rapid growth phase.
